Submit your stories!!!

I am having so much fun on this new website reading all the funny stories that mothers have sent in! I haven't yet posted my own story though. I guess I better get to thinking because the dead line for round two is Saturday. The winning submission gets some great prize package.

I got an e-mail update update on Leah Remini's In the Motherhood last night:

Voting has ended on what the first webisode will be and now Round Two is Open!

»  Start Writing based on one of the Topics below:

Create Episode #2:
Choose a topic:

(#1 of 2) The Greatest Meltdown Moments in History

Your pulse begins to race. Your heart is pounding and blood rushes to your face. You want to run, yet your feet feel cemented to the floor. No, you're not having a total meltdown, your child is. Meltdowns are those natural disasters for which one never gets the benefit of a twenty-second warning. Once they're on, all bets are off and they usually go down in public at the most inopportune times. Tell us the worst, most unforgettable meltdowns (public or private) by your precious little darling. Tell us the when, where and "How the hell did this happen to me?!"

(#2 of 2) Unsolicited Mother or Mother-in-law Advice: I Didn't Ask so Don't Tell

Nobody knows how to take better care of your children than you, right? The answer seems obvious, unless your own mother, or worse yet, mother-in-law has anything to say about it. They assume we have no idea what we're doing, and if we don't stop, our children will be ruined for life. Share your stories of all that ‘wisdom' you wish you never got, and we'll turn it into a webisode that exposes how ridiculous their advice really is.

Tell us about your most memorable Mother's Day — the one that broke your heart, the one that made you laugh till you cried, the one that would send you into therapy! Let's face it, our kids and our husbands always mean well, but the best laid Mother's Day plans often go awry. Share your special moments with your fellow moms, so we can all share a laugh about your most unforgettable Mother's Day moments.

Squirrel in the 21st century...

Cell Today is a good day!  First of all it's the weekend!  Second of all, I at the age of 40 got my first cell phone today.  Well I had a cell phone before but it was one of those prepaid phones and after I ran out of minutes I tossed the phone in a drawer and never used it again.  This is a real grown up phone with a 2 year commitment.  A phone relationship of sorts.  I was pushed into it by a VERY aggressive salesman.  My teenage son.  We were going through Walmart today and there was a T-Mobile salesman there.  The kid got me to talk to the guy and after a few minutes kinda pushed the real salesman aside and went to work on me with some serious sales techniques.  Like what if there is a serious emergency and he NEEDS to get ahold of me?!  What if he is in danger and NEEDS to call 911?!  Then the "you should get one too mom because mobile to mobile is free".  So here I am finally living in the 21st century.  I barely know how to use the thing but I've got it in case I need it.

And another reason today is a good day is because I was notified that I am the Top Momma over at Top Momma!!!  Keep me on top by going over there and clicking on my picture!  Thanks!

Spreading the linky love...

I was added to the list below by Wander.  I am a computer ding dong and really only know how to type and do just basic html.  So I really didn't understand the whole concept of what I was getting into when I agreed to post it on my blog.  But then today I was looking over on Technorati seeing how many blogs linked to me and WOW!  I went from only about ten linking to me to about 40 in just a week because of this list floating around the blogosphere.  This seriously helps your Google rankings.  I am going to post the list and then add a few people to it from my blogroll that I think might be interested in doing this also.  If I added your name and you don't want to help spread it around NO PROBLEM.  If I didn't add your name and you are interested in spreading the list around comment me and I will add you here.

Here are the directions:
1.  Write a short paragraph at the beginning of your post and link back to the blog that put you on the list in the paragraph.  This isn't a suggestion; you need to break up the duplicate content.  Someone took the time to add you so the least you can do is give them an extra link back.

2.  Copy the list of originals below COMPLETELY and add it to you blog.  If you would like a different keyword for your blog then change it when you do your post and it should pass to most blogs with that keyword.

3.  Take the adds from the blog that added you and place all of them in the "Originals" list.

Add at least 1 new blog that you KNOW is using the DO Follow plug-in to the list in the "MY ADDS" section (add no more than 5!).  Let the people you've added know so that they can keep the list going.

MY ADDS:

The Originals:

The Gabbatha Journey

Todays post is to let all of you out there know that I have nominated The Gabbatha Journey as best Religion blog on the Bloggers Choice Awards.  Josh has a great blog that is a religious blog (that's my description anyway) with a mix of humor.  I am asking you all to go over to the Blogger Choice Awards sign up and vote for The Gabbatha Journey.  Right now an athesist blog has the most votes at 20.  It doesn't make sense to me that an anti religion blog is in this catagory!  Josh has 4 votes as of right now he could use your support!

Squirrel Chatter...

I got a new chatbox on my sidebar.

Title_snowheavy_1According to Josh all the cool blogs have one.  So not to be outdone by Josh I inserted one on my blog.  I usually am blogging all morning so stop in leave a comment on my post and then stop by the chatbox and see if i'm in.  Tell me good morning, good luck or good bye.  Tell me about your new post on your blog, something, anything. Don't make me come over there.

Court dates, Anne Rice and ebay...

We just got a call from our attorney.  The court date is this Friday at 3:30pm.  He is going to see if the judge will just hear the whole modification case then instead of just the order to vacate that they filed.  Rabids court hearing for the petty larceny is at 8:30am that same day.  I think our lawyer set the date for the same day just later in the day so he could use whatever he learns at her hearing against her during our case.  Last night she called and Hubby told her that C-man wants to live with us and asked her if she even cares what he wants and she said, and I quote "I don't care WHAT he wants!".  Our lawyer is going to ask for sole custody with her having limited supervised visitation.  Hopefully the judge will have the supervised visits at child services.  I'm just making myself sick worrying that her mother will be given a second chance to supervise the visits and we will have to take him over there crying every other weekend.  I need to go crochet and watch soap operas or go read a book to get my mind off of this!  I did pick up Anne Rice's Blood Canticle recently.  I've only gotten about one chapter into it so far but if it is anything like the rest of her books it should be great.

I posted a new item on ebay today.  A gently used Dooney and Bourke handbag if anyone is interested.

I'm off to try and relax now... See ya.

Crocheting and knitting is sooo fun!

More from today below.

Do you like the new digs?

I am decorating the blog for Christmas but I can't decide on a theme.  I like this TODAY.  It might change again but for now I kinda like it.  I like the new header I can change the pic on the right as my mood changes.  Really i've just got a lot of time on my hands as the boys are out going to a state championship football game and I am left here alone.  I could go, but who wants to go sit in the cold and watch kids that are not your own play football?!  NOT me.  I am a little nuts but not THAT nuts.  At least not about football.

If you haven't noticed the weight counter is gone from the top of the blog.  I lost 6 pounds but then I gained back three and I was so sick of looking at it everyday on this blog.  Too depressing.

My sister is driving me crazy wanting this freakin' table cloth made for Christmas.  My mother told her I was crocheting pot holders and she wasn't too happy about it considering she doesn't do any of the cooking, her husbands does it all.  So my mother called me and told me she found a 106" table cloth at Walmart for only eight dollars.  Mom gave me the great idea to just buy iron on applications with a Christmas theme and put them on the corners.  The whole thing would only cost me about 15 dollars tops and would be EXTREMELY easy to do.  A lot easier than spending the next week crocheting my fingers to the bone for an ingrate.

Hope everyone is staying warm!! Warm those paws!

Don't forget about my renter at the top of the sidebar! Evil Pop Tart has some new evil stories of evil deeds!
