Squirrely McNasty

We'll call T-man's bio father Squirrely McNasty.  He has an extensive criminal record since I kicked him out of the nest nearly 15 years ago.  I found out he was back in prison recently so I sent him a letter asked him if he would be willing to give up parental rights so my husband could adopt T-man.  I recieved the ludicrous reply yesterday.  He says yes he will give up rights.  But only if I FIRST sign, have notarized and mail back this hand written reciept stating that he paid me the $40,000 plus dollars he owes in back child support.  Well duh, if I do that then he won't have any reason to give up his rights!  I'm taking the letter he wrote to me to an attorney and see what he says.  Oh yes the letter also said that he will be getting out of prison in 2008 and if my marriage is over by then he'll be at his grandmothers waiting for me!   HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!  And he said that he's glad I contacted him because he planned on getting in touch (in 2008) to buy T-man a car!  HAHAHAHAHA!!  He hasn't paid a dime of child support or even tried to see his son since the boy was 3 months old but he is going to buy him a car!!!  I think they are supplying him with CRACK in that place.  Does he think I was born yesterday?!  I didn't show this ridiculous letter to T-man he doesn't even know I sent Squirrely McNasty a letter to begin with.
