One of my favorite things...

100_2198_4  I seriously love Blazer Hockey.  Last night we went to a game.  They lost.  But I still love it.  The screaming like a maniac.  The beer.  The chocolate covered pecans.  The beer.  The cinnamon covered walnuts.  The hockey fights.  The beer.  The sexy hockey players.  Did I mention the beer?  I only like beer at hockey games.  Don't ask me why, I can't explain it.

My favorite player right now is Mike Burgoyne.

100_2202_3Well that's it.  I just thought I mention I LOVE....Blazers_hockey_2

Schedule, kid news, weather report and asking God another favor...

I have been so busy.  I have volunteered myself into a corner!  I literally have every day of the week booked!  And now I'm running for city office!  Am I crazy?  Yes definitely.

This is my week:

Sunday morning: Church and teach Sunday school.

Monday night: Little league football practice and Quarterback Club meeting.

Tuesday night: Man the T-shirt table at the Jr. high school football games.

Wednesday night: Help to supervise 70 kids at church youth program.

Thursday night: Little league football practice.

Friday night: High school football games.

Saturday mornings: Little league football games.

Well it looks like I'll only be that busy during football season then it should slack off and I can relax.

Speaking of football my teenage son actually caught an interception last night at the scrimmage.  This is the first time he's had the ball in his hands in all the years of playing since he is a lineman.  That kid hasn't stopped talking about it or grinning for that matter.

My beautiful smart daughter started college last night!  I'm soooo proud of her! She's going to be a paralegal.  She's been working in an attorneys office for several years now and makes good money but this will really help her career.

And my oldest son is doing really great working with his dad and has gotten several raises recently.  He just moved to the big city a couple of weeks ago and I hardly ever am going to get to see him!  I've probably been driving him crazy calling every couple of days.

C-man, the 8 year old that had so much trouble in school last year is doing great this year in third grade. He hasn't been in trouble at all this year so far.  I know school just started but him going more than a day or two without getting in trouble is amazing.

I haven't mentioned the weather.  Bad.  Very bad.  Remember last year when I was begging you all to pray for rain?  Well y'all prayed too hard.  We have gotten 52 inches of rain so far this year!  The bridge south of town washed out last weekend when we got 10 inches in one night!  My Sunday school class flooded and so did two of my neighbors houses.  And yes folks it is overcast and looks like rain again today.  You guys must all be in good with the Lord for him to listen to you so well so could you tell him that we in Oklahoma really appreciate his getting us out of the drought but could we ask one more tiny favor and have him cut back on the amounts of rain?

Thanks! :)

What's up with this? I'M NOT your only friend?!

Man crushes.  Ever heard the term?  I think I first heard it on Seinfeld, but don't hold me to it.  I define a man crush as a man who is completely heterosexual who gets fascinated by another mans abilities.  He then befriends the guy and wants to learn how to be more like him.  Then these two guys start hanging out together doing said activity all the time, like let's just use roller hockey for an example.  No reason it could be anything like basketball or golf.... I'm just saying.  And I'm not naming any names.  I wouldn't want to sleep on the couch get hate mail.  I'm not jealous.  Not me.  And NO I'm not getting roller blades and joining them.  There's a law against 40 year old women wearing roller blades isn't there?  No? Well there should be.  I mean for God's sake I might SWEAT or fall on my ass in front of people (thanks for reminding me of that part, Wander)!

EDIT to get myself our of the doghouse for implying someone has a man crush: I just need to clarify that I am only giving a certain person crap because I am mean like that.  Said person is really only trying to loose weight and roller hockey is good exercise.  This is an activity that said person and his son are doing together along with this other guy and his son.  I have been invited to join them I just don't like exerting too much energy if I don't absolutely have to, especially in the summer.  I know it's not summer yet but this is Oklahoma and it already is starting to feel like the surface of the sun.

Nice ride, hockey and Starbucks...

My husband got a new toy this week.  He has been wanting a new truck for awhile.  We have a Ford Escape but that, I guess was not manly enough.  The other night we bought a 1999 Chevy Silverado extended cab that has been lowered.  I am surprised he got one that was lowered because he usually doesn't like them, but this truck is really pretty.1999chevy My teenage son is driving me crazy wanting to drive it and the 8 yr old wants me to rev the motor  for his friends everytime I pick him up from school.

My husband is flying home from Houston tonight and its raining.  I hate it when he flies and its raining.  Flying makes me nervous anyhow but throw in a storm or even rain and i'm a nervous wreck.  Tommorrow night he and I are going to a Blazers hockey playoff game in Oklahoma City.  He is all excited but it's suppose to feel like 20 degrees and I am not looking forward to it.  I just want to snuggle up and watch tv in bed when it gets cold.  Hell, who am I kidding?!  That's what I want to do all year 'round!  One good thing is I can have him stop on the way home and get me a great big White Chocolate Mocha Latte at Starbucks.  Sex for the tongue, pure and simple (sounds delious doesn't Bluepaintred?!).  Well I gotta go and clean this house before my man gets home.  Have a great weekend, all!!!!

Hockey, Nerf, weather and cake GLORIOUS cake

Team3_thHockey last night was a let down.  The stupid Ref's stopped every fight.  They couldn't even get off with one punch before the refs went over there and stopped them.  Oh and we also lost 4 to 5, that sucked.  I still had some fun but it wasn't a heart pounding good time like I had hoped.

I mentioned C-man's birthday was yesterday.  His cousin decided to buy him a Nerf air rifle.  Something in this house is going to get broken I just know it.  I told him not to shoot it in the house.  He just gave me that blank stare and said "well what if I accidently shoot it in the house?". Boys.

We are getting some more snow and rain today but not the 4 to 8 inches that they were predicting.  Thank goodness.  As it is it looks like my porch is going to cave from the weight of the ice that has been on it all week.  There is 3 or 4 inches of ice on that porch roof.

Damn, don't I have anything good to say?!  Well, my husband has lost about 10 pounds this week.  That's what he says but I find it hard to believe.  I lost 3 or 4.  We are really sticking to this low carb diet and it seems to be working.  It was hard not to eat C-man whole birthday cake.  It smells sooooo goooood.  I ate one tiny piece of it.  I had to.  It was my kids birthday.  I think theres some kind of rule that you have to. Really.

The basketball diaries...

Has anyone else noticed that time is standing still!!  Why is it when I am waiting anxiously for something like the court date on Friday tiiiimmmmee jjjusssttt sssstttaaanndddss ssstttiiilll????  I swear yesterday was 72 hours long.  And this morning has drug by also.

Last night I took C-man to his basketball practice.  This was his second practice but the first one i've taken him to.  Hubby was out of town.  None of my other children played sports when they were young so this is a first for me.  Is it just C-man or do a lot of 7 year old boys act like drama queens when playing sports?  I swear that boy spent more time rolling around on the basketball court acting like he was mortally injured than he did actually practicing.  One time he actually did get hurt enough to squirt a couple tears.  He ran smack dab into the basket pole.  Thank goodness it had padding on it.  But he limped around and rolled around at least 5 different times in an hour.  At one point he just walked off the floor and sat down next to me during a scrimmage and got a drink and told me he thought his leg was broken.  I tried to tell him that he couldn't stand up if his leg was broken without laughing but the snicker on my face gave me away and he got a little pissed and walked back onto the court.1406629064

Wine, football and pumpkin pie...

Oh do I have a headache!  We had dinner at my sister's house today.  She poured me glass after glass of wine.  I think that chick was trying to get me drunk!  I don't hardly EVER drink so this was a rare thing.  I didn't get drunk but I got dizzy and I now have a raging headache.  She was planning on trying to get me tipsy and get me to sing karaoke.  Not going to happen.  I don't care how much wine you give me. Period.  The only thing that she accomplished while trying to get me drunk was getting herself drunk.  She passed out on the couch after dinner and I ended up doing the dishes.

T-man got lucky.  One of his friends was going to the OU/OSU bedlam game and his grandfather had an extra ticket, so T-man was asked if he wanted to go.  When he told Hubby he was going, C-man heard him and got so upset he couldn't go he burst into tears.  Last I heard the tickets were going for 500 dollars.  Hubby took C-man to a high school play-off game a few towns over tonight to soften the blow.  C-man being seven, I think it might have worked.  So here I am, once again all alone in this house.  The football widow.  Ahhh the Aleve are finally working and the headache is going away.  I'm off to eat some pumpkin pie.  I wonder how my sister is doing tonight...
