Music

Music brings memories pouring out...

Yesterday while blog hopping I came across a really neat blog.  This person posts great songs of the 80's.  If you were a teen or young adult in the 80's you will have a blast sitting and listening to song after song and reading the lyrics.  A few of them almost made me cry as memories came flooding back.  Air Supply's "Lost in Love" reminded me of the summer I sat in my room and cried over my first love thinking he had cheated on me with my best friend while I was gone on vacation.  Some songs reminded me of good times too but that song really hit me like a ton of bricks.  But then the Manhattans Shining Star reminded me how much I love my present husband.  I actually sang it to him last night, of course changing the part where it said "girl" to "boy".  LOL.

Honey, you are my shining star
Don't you go away
Wanna be right here where you are
until my dying day

So many have tried, tried to find
a love like yours and mine

Boy, don't you realize
how you hypnotize?
Make me, love you more each time

Honey I'll never leave you lonely
Give my love to you only
to you only, to you on - ly

Honey, you are my shining star.
Don't you go away.
Wanna be right here where you are
until my dying day.

Feels so good when we're lying here next to each other,
lost in love.

Baby, when we touch, love you so much.
You're all I ever dreamed of.

Honey I'll never leave you lonely;
give my love to you only,
to you only, to you only.

Honey, you are my shining star.
Don't you go away.
Wanna be right here where you are
until my dying day.

Knock, knock. Who's there? Rabid Squirrel!!!

Rabid and her mother blindsided me yesterday afternoon.  They have never shown up at my house before, now all the sudden there they are knocking on my door wanting to see C-man.  I saw a car driving by the house slowly about 10 minutes before that but they had a different car and I didn't recognize them.  I guess they were hoping he would be outside playing and they could catch him out there.  He was in the house eating cereal and watching tv.  He opened the door when they knocked.  Thank God I was right behind him and they didn't get into the house.  My house was a mess because  the boys had just gotten home from school and their stuff was all over and I had been folding laundry on the couch.  Not that I would want those raving lunatics in my home even if it was sparkling clean.  Everytime I am around them I have a panic attack.  Ever since they attacked me at the court house a few years ago during the first custody case my heart starts pounding a million miles a minute and feels like it is about to come out of my chest when they are near.  And there they were, BOTH of them standing on my porch.  I was alone with the boys, Hubby was no where around!!  We stood on the porch while C-man kept saying "I want to go back in and finish my cereal!"  Even he was getting nervous and wanted them gone.  These two witches drove a half hour over to my house and didn't even call to say they were coming.  Then they circled my house for God knows how long before finally knocking on the door.  Now I am scared to let C-man out in the yard alone.  And how do you keep a 7, almost 8 year old in the house? Not. Going. To. Happen!  I'm going to have a nervous breakdown before the February court date, I swear!  Anyway they just kinda stood there like they thought I would actually invite them in.  No way was that going to happen.  I've got the chief of police living next door and I might need help!  I acted all calm and told C-man to give his "Nanny and mommy" a hug and to tell them how he was doing in school and he did.  I guess they were pretty shocked I was nice because they acted like they were ready for a fight.  I think my being cordial unnerved them because they left rather quickly and Rabid actually said thanks for letting them talk to C-man.  Man, I hope them dropping in like that isn't going to become a habit.
