Schedule, kid news, weather report and asking God another favor...

I have been so busy.  I have volunteered myself into a corner!  I literally have every day of the week booked!  And now I'm running for city office!  Am I crazy?  Yes definitely.

This is my week:

Sunday morning: Church and teach Sunday school.

Monday night: Little league football practice and Quarterback Club meeting.

Tuesday night: Man the T-shirt table at the Jr. high school football games.

Wednesday night: Help to supervise 70 kids at church youth program.

Thursday night: Little league football practice.

Friday night: High school football games.

Saturday mornings: Little league football games.

Well it looks like I'll only be that busy during football season then it should slack off and I can relax.

Speaking of football my teenage son actually caught an interception last night at the scrimmage.  This is the first time he's had the ball in his hands in all the years of playing since he is a lineman.  That kid hasn't stopped talking about it or grinning for that matter.

My beautiful smart daughter started college last night!  I'm soooo proud of her! She's going to be a paralegal.  She's been working in an attorneys office for several years now and makes good money but this will really help her career.

And my oldest son is doing really great working with his dad and has gotten several raises recently.  He just moved to the big city a couple of weeks ago and I hardly ever am going to get to see him!  I've probably been driving him crazy calling every couple of days.

C-man, the 8 year old that had so much trouble in school last year is doing great this year in third grade. He hasn't been in trouble at all this year so far.  I know school just started but him going more than a day or two without getting in trouble is amazing.

I haven't mentioned the weather.  Bad.  Very bad.  Remember last year when I was begging you all to pray for rain?  Well y'all prayed too hard.  We have gotten 52 inches of rain so far this year!  The bridge south of town washed out last weekend when we got 10 inches in one night!  My Sunday school class flooded and so did two of my neighbors houses.  And yes folks it is overcast and looks like rain again today.  You guys must all be in good with the Lord for him to listen to you so well so could you tell him that we in Oklahoma really appreciate his getting us out of the drought but could we ask one more tiny favor and have him cut back on the amounts of rain?

Thanks! :)

My favorite childhood year and a news flash...

This is something I saw on another blog today that I thought was neat.

Name your favorite year in your childhood and tell about it.

I would have to say that it would be 1980.

My favorite musical group was: Air Supply (OF COURSE!!).

My favorite songs were: Kenny Loggins "I'm alright" and Air Supply's "Lost in Love".

My favorite tv show was: Battlestar Galactica

My favorite movie was: Grease.  I know it came out a year or two before but I loved it and watched it over and over!

My favorite actor: Dirk Benedict.  That man was hot!

My favorite actress: Olivia Newton-John

My best memory:  My 1st boyfriend was Glenn, we use to go to church on Wednesday nights and get there early.  We found a little door that went under the stage where the pulpit was.  We would sneak under there and kiss!

My worst memory:  ?????  I guess I don't want to remember the bad stuff!

My favorite teacher:  Ms. Gragg, my art teacher.  She really made that class fun!

And for a special treat (or huge laugh) I present to you 1980's Squirrel:

600m

Who to tag???  Anyone who wants to do it!

Local news flash...

One of my opponents backed out of the race!  She was one of the ones I was worried about.  Today I am ordering my campaign signs.  The election is in a little over three weeks.  C-man is a little upset that he will have to go to daycare if I get elected.  It will only be for a couple hours after school but you can't blame him.  He's almost nine years old and going to daycare is not a nine year old boys idea of a good time.  Well there's a chance he won't have to go to daycare if my mother in law doesn't get the job she applied for.

Well that's it for today.  I'm off to get a haircut!

Pretty toes, Evil Dick and dental work...

Just call me twinkle toes.  Last night C-man stayed at his grandparents and hubby and I went out on a date.  I talked the man into going and getting his and hers pedicures and he went for it!!!  He's never done it and I wasn't sure he would. But he did!  Mine looks fab. Mypedi

He doesn't have the pink toes but his feet look 100 percent better.  We then totally blew our diet and went out and had authentic Italian food.  It was great.  After that it was showers, bed and Big Brother.  Man I love that show.  Evil Dick is just soooo evil yet there's something touching about they way he loves his daughter.  His Christian bashing is getting old though.  They cut a lot of it out on regular TV.  He is in rare form on Showtime.

Tomorrow is the first day of school.  Yeah I know the other day I was saying I couldn't wait.  It was a bad day and the boys were being turds.  But yesterday T-man and I went shopping all by ourselves and we had a great time joking around and having lunch together.  I'm going to miss having him around.  We also went to get his schedule changed.  They had put him in AG (Agriculture) and he was freaking out.  We got it changed to art.  Now he's in art first hour and cooking second hour.  Two pretty easy classes first thing in the morning should make life better.

Well I'd better close this for now, I've got to take the boys to the dentist to get their cavities filled.  C-man has never had cavities and I am dreading this appointment.  I wanted his dad there to sit in the room with him but he's got a meeting he can't get out of so it's just me.  I really get squeamish watching them do dental work and he's probably going to freak out when they come at him with a needle.  This SUCKS.

Who doesn't do online shopping these days? Buying things like entertainment centers is something you want to shop around for when you're doing your shopping online. Saving money is good when you shop online especially for those expensive LCD TV's.

Ribs, the incredible shrinking stomach and the growing boy...

It was such a long rough weekend!  We had the annual rib roast fund raiser for the little league football teams on Saturday.  We had 6 giant smokers and we cooked 630 slabs of pork ribs.  Oh, did I mention it was a little over 100 degrees on Saturday?!!!  I finally gave out around 10:30pm.  I heard they were at it until 2:00am.  It was a nightmare.  My husband is the vice president of the club and along with the president decided that we will no longer do this fund raiser.  We made almost 5000 dollars but it is just too hard and we don't get enough parents to help.  Not to mention the only time of year we can do it it is as hot as Hell!  I'm surprised my husband didn't have a heart attack or a stroke.  He was one of the ones stoking the fires and loading and unloading the meat into the smokers.  He also cut and delivered all the wood the night before.  We cut down a giant Pecan tree a few weeks ago in our yard and one last year so we had a lot of great wood to smoke meat with.  It was a tense day.  My husband and the woman who is the little league president got into a little argument. I wasn't there but I heard it wasn't pretty.

Anyway.....

My diet is going GREAT I am now down to 147!!!!  I am only eating about 1100 calories a day and no longer feel like I am starving.  Over the weekend I was going to splurge and eat a big meal and I could only eat a 1/3 of it.  I think my stomach is shrinking.  My husband ate too many ribs and gained about three pounds.  After looking at all that raw meat all day I couldn't even eat it.Coopersdisplayribs

School starts in three days!!  I'm taking the boys to get the last of their cavities filled on Wednesday.  Thursday is the first day of school!  Tomorrow I've got to take T-man to the high school because they put him in Ag and home economics II.  He is not a happy camper about it.  He's going into the tenth grade this year.  I can't believe how fast he is growing up.  He's 5'11" now and still growing.  He's going to be a big boy.

Well i've gotta run now and do all the laundry from the weekend. See ya!

Another shot at weight loss and a shot at a campaign win.

I'm trying another way to loose weight.  The pills made me sick to my stomach and the low carb diet was just too hard and my friend Titania is a nutritionist and said not to do it that way.  So now I am limiting my calorie intake to under 1300 calories and eating more fruits and vegetables, eating Lean Cuisine and Healthy Choice frozen dinners, drinking skim milk and walking and or riding the torture device exercise bike.  No more soda unless it is diet. Drinking more water and these great low calorie (and some flavors are no calorie) drink called Fuze.  So far in the past two weeks I have lost 5 pounds.  My husband is on a 1600 calorie diet and has lost 13 pounds over the past few weeks.  It really sucks because he can eat more than me and I'm starving!  But, I won't have to diet for as long as my Hubby though because he's got a lot more weight to loose than I do.  I only need to loose 20 pounds he needs to loose about 80 pounds.  Because of the heart disease risk factors he's got to get down to around 175.  I think he can do it.  He's really doing good about calling me before he eats out and asking me to look up what he can eat on the menu that is low cal.

In other news, the campaign is doing well.  My brother came up with a great ad to put in the paper next week.  People are coming up to me that I don't know and asking me if i'm (Squirrel) and telling me that they are voting for me.  I'm getting a little anxious about it.  I haven't worked in two years and I'm a little scared thinking i'm getting in over my head.  Did I just say that out loud? No.  It's online, it doesn't count. LOL

A meme from meme...

A Bookshelf Meme

I snagged this meme from Titania. You may play along if you wish my fellow bookworms.

The rules are to provide a list of books that you have on your shelves to see if anyone can learn about you from them - but not just any books. They have to be books that you've actually paid for, nothing given, borrowed, stolen, or whatever.
1.  The Happy Hooker ~ The stitch and bitch crochet by Debbie Stroller: This is an instructional book on crocheting!
2.  Before California an archaeologist looks at our earliest inhabitants by Brian Fagan
3.  I, Judas by Taylor Caldwell: This is a fictional account of the last days of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas.
3.  Claudius the God and his wife Messalina by Robert Graves:  Awesome book about the Roman emporer Claudius.
4.  Excavating Jesus by John Dominic Crossman and Johnathan L. Reed
5.  The complete world of the Dead Sea Scrolls by Phillip R. Davies
6.  The entire Left Behind Series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins
7.  Royal Panopoly Brief Lives of the English Monarchs by Carolly Erickson
8.  Healing the Shame that Binds You by James Bradshaw
9.  The Illiad by Homer ~ I've only read half of this, it's a toughy.
10.  Napoleon and His Marshalls by A.G. MacDonell

Don't listen to me i'm just a female...

I know i've probably blogged on this subject before but here I go again...

It is so hard to be the only female in a house of all males.  Pretty much not a one of them listens to me unless I am crying.  And these days I don't cry much so you know what that means.  C-man only listens to me if i've recently made his dad spank him, then I can threaten him with that and it's fresh in his memory.  T-man argues with pretty much everything I say.  Hell, both the boys do that.  It's like they think because i'm female I'm not as intelligent.  My husband has gotten so "important" at work that he no longer has 10 seconds during the day to even pretend to be interested in my phone calls.  Most of the time when I call him I get sent straight to voice mail.  I know it's just because he's busy and it's probably nothing personal but after spending the day with these two "i've got a penis therefore I don't have to do what you lower life form female says I have to do" boys of mine it's a little hard to take.  I can't even blame my husband for how the boys treat me because we only got custody of C-man recently and honestly I think his beast mother is telling him exactly how to drive me crazy.  And I think T-man's problem is he's a teenager and basically a jerk.  When my husband is at home he is very sweet to me and listens and gets onto the boys for being disrespectful so he's trying.  To get right to the point, I CANNOT WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START!  And if there's a God in heaven (and I know there is!) please hear my prayer and send the year-round-school program plague to Oklahoma!!!!

AMEN.

I want to meet you!
