Darn spammers and scammers!

I'm really sorry but i've had to turn on comment verification.  I am getting bombarded with spam comments on all my old posts.  Maybe i'll only have to have it on for a few month and they'll stop.  I hope because I HATE comment verifications!

In other news I AM FREAKING OUT again about what to do with C-man if I get elected to City Clerk.  MY wishywashy mother-in-law promised me prior to me filing to run that C-man could ride the bus to her house after school and stay until I got off work.  As soon as I filed to run in the election she started looking for a job.  So now it looks like everyday after school C-man will be sitting in my office whining and crying to go out side to play.

C-man has been at his mothers house all weekend.  She's up to something criminal.  Last week her name showed up on a crime report in the news paper a couple of towns away stating that she reported a car stolen.  She has no car.  Wehn my husband asked her about it she said it was her new Dodge Stratus.  About six weeks ago she had a Dodge Stratus for a weekend and then it disapeared.  She said the loan didn't go through.  She hasn't had a car for over a month now.  Then all the sudden it's stolen.  Totally weird becasue when my husband first asked her about it she denied having a car stolen.  It wasn't until he told her he read it in the paper that she admitted it.  She's always scamming somebody.

Well thats about it.  HAVE GREAT WEEK!

It's official!

I filed to run for City Clerk Treasurer yesterday.  There are three other women running though, so it's not a sure thing.  I go to church with one of them and one is a former business owner (a small cafe).  The other one has name recognition but is in her early twenties and doesn't have much experience.  My husband is so excited he's already putting in an order for campaign signs.  I am nervous!  I'm not too good at tooting my own horn and I am a little shy when it comes to approaching strangers but, I do have the support of the mayor, the police chief and two possibly three of the city council members.  The election is in September.  They are having a special election for this position because the last person to hold this office was arrested for embezzlement.  I go to church with her too.  It was a very sad story, indeed.

Anyway that's what's been going on around here.  I've gotta go now the hubby is on vacation this week and he's been hogging the computer!

Oh yes if you have a chance go by The Gabbatha Journey and scroll down about halfway down the page you'll see pics of Motley Crue and Van Halen.  Under that you'll see who should be crown winner of Hairband Idol.  PLEASE choose Motely Crue and vote!  I've been playing this game for about six weeks now and Motley Crue is my band and I have made it to the final two!  I need some votes!  Thanks!

I made up my mind, I think...

As of today I've decided to go ahead and run.  Now I may change my mind before Wednesday.  I found out more about the job.  It pays 12.50 per hour roughly.  It's a salaried position.  Only 35 hours a week.  It is only 2 minutes away from the house.  My father in law said C-man could ride the bus to his house everyday after school.  My husband wants me to do it so bad he can taste it.  Those are the reasons why I should.  We could use the money because we really want a new camper and Sea Doos.

The reasons why I might say no are not so good.  I am really spoiled and I love not working.  OK basically I have one reason to say no.  Not a good reason.  Kinda selfish.  Yeah I'm going to run.

On another note, my Father just found out his liver is shot because of alcohol abuse.  And he has emphysema.  Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts.  My father in law had the surgery the other day and he has 100 percent blockage in one of the arteries he has already had two stents in and they can't do anything about it.  I have a lot of praying to do for the two good men in my life.  I know my dad won't last to much longer, maybe a few years I just don't want him to suffer.

Well that's all I got today.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

To run or not to run that is the question...

Ok today i'm sober and i'm rethinking this running for office thing.  BUT THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SO SUPPORTIVE!  You all would make great campaign supporters!

This job will only pay 9.50 per hour and I would have to work 45 to 50 hours per week.  After taxes I would only bring home about 300 per week.  And then add the yearly income to what my husband makes and it throws us into a whole other tax backet that from what I can tell raises our yearly tax from 11,100 a year to over 18,000 per year and more when my husband gets his raise.  So i'll bring home about 19,750 per year and around 7000 of that will have to go to paying more taxes.  So the question is do I want to want to work that many hours for what will be essentially be 6.12 per hour? NO.  My boys will be left alone every summer and after school for the next 6 years.  C-man needs supervision.

The only thing is I am in pretty good with the mayor and she is all for me running, I would be her first pick.  It would be an interseting challenge.  I would have the support of the largest church in town and my husband acts like he really wants me to do it.  I hate being a Libra sometimes! I have a hard time making up my mind because I am all the time weighing both sides and see the good and bad in both sides.  Leaving the boys alone does make all the difference though.  I don't like the idea of my kids running all over town unsupervised even if this is a small town.  There I go again bouncing all over the place!

Me an elected official, what do ya think?

OK I've had three really big margaritas.  And now I'm starting my first Seagram's Smirnoff Twisted Green Apple.  I'm  little tipsy.

I'm thinking about running for office.  There is a position open for City Clerk Treasurer.  Me.  An elected official. Wow.

Squirrelelection2What do you guys think?  You've all known me for a couple of years.  I use to be a executive assistant for a large corporation.  I was a secretary/book keeper for many years.  I think I can do the job.  The mayor said that they are going to purchase Quickbooks soon.  At my last job as a office manager I taught myself Quickbooks.  I need to go back to work.  When I married my husband I quit my job.  I have been a housewife for 4 years now.  I don't really want to go more than five years without something on my resume. Hmmmm.  It's not a major city or anything.  There's only about 1600 people in this town.....

The boy is back in town, Little League, nice date and heart surgery...

C-man is back in town!  I've hardly seen him all summer.  When school first got out he went to his mothers for two weeks then when he got back I had him two days before his grandpa picked him up then after that he went to his grandmothers then back to his mothers for two weeks.  We are only going to have him a couple of nights then he's going to go back to his mothers for a couple of days because the rain has finally stopped so he can go swimming.

We have Little League sign ups today so I'll be busy with that.  So far my husband has 13 7 and 8 year old's for his team we were hoping to get a few more.  I hope today is successful.

Oh yeah I got the eyebrows up from my husband on the new lighter blond me.  He took me out for dinner and drinks last night.  We had a good time.  He even put his phone on silent.  I was shocked!  That phone never gets turned off unless he's on the football field or in church.  I have spent many a anniversary dinner listening to his work phone calls.

Tomorrow is my father-in-laws birthday.  He's going to have a cook out.  He's going in for heart surgery on Wednesday.  Something to do with a bad stent from a previous surgery.  Please everyone keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope you all have a great weekend!  See ya Monday!

The NOO DOO...

100_2096_3 I dyed my hair blond, what do ya think?  My husband hasn't seen it yet.  I took about a thousand pictures to get this one.  I am NOT photogenic!  My husband and my son's friends say I'm hot but then you take a picture of me and I look like a freaking crazy person.  I mean even in this one I've got like 6 chins!

Here are a few others:

I'm Shmoozing now!

The Power of the Schmooze

Schmoozing as defined by Dictonary.com is the ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” When it comes to blogging, schmoozing is your ticket to making new friends, getting yourself noticed and building a reputation. Some bloggers are gifted with the ability to effectively schmooze and others not so much.Schmooze_award2

My dear friend Titania has granted me the Schmooze award. She is sooo sweet to include me in this! I am proud to be called an internet Schmoozer as I have more friends on the internet than in the "real world" because I am not that social outside of church and the Little Leaugue Football circles.

Here are the Schmooze rules:

1. If, and only if, you get the Thinking Blogger Award or The Power of Schmooze Award, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think, or have schmoozed you into submission.

2. Link to this post and Mike so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme.

3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ or the 'Power of Shmooze Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog

My pick of five of the best Schmoozers, intentional or not you have successfully Shmoozed me into submission!:

1. Bluepaintred : She is really really funny!  She always says what's on her mind and in her heart.  She doesn't hold back and I love it!

2. Wander: Such a sweet and friendly, helpful lady.  Her blog always brigtens my day.

3. Erin.: Another outspoken matter of fact blogger who lays it all out in the open.  Her blog is full of great posts, she lets you laugh and cry with her.

Fireworks, baseball, buttcracks and heat...

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a great 4th of July!

July42007kelly_2 We had a great time eating hamburgers and hot dogs and homemade ice cream (I ate strawberry mmmmm)

We watched a great fireworks show at the football field.

A few of them went of WAY too close to the ground.  But it was the fire dept. in full gear doing the show so they were safe.  Last night we went to watch the Oklahoma City Redhawks play Baseball with our church group.  All I can say is Baseball is kinda boring.  Not at all like Hockey.  I never once had the urge to jump up and yell.

July4squirrelOh YES!!!!  The air conditioner repair man just got here!!!!  I was wondering, does anyone know if all repairmen attend the "How to properly show butt crack" class?  Because I think this guy taught the class.

UPDATE: They can't fix my air conditioner today!!!!!  The fan blade won't come off the old fan motor!  They've got to take it back to their shop and try and get it off without breaking it.  If they can't they've got to order a new fan blade and it won't be here until Monday afternoon.  I just told Hubby and he said we might go to a hotel for the weekend if it gets any hotter.  We maxed out on rain and cool weather at 20 days a few days ago and now the hot humid heat is starting.

I want to meet you!
